On Friday 26 and Saturday 27 February 2010 the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) will organise an Open Weekend. The Open Weekend will take place at the MCAST Main Campus, Corradino Hill, Paola from 9am till 4pm on Friday 26 February and from 9am till 1pm on Saturday 27 February 2010.

With a mere nine years since its inception, MCAST has grown into nine Institutes and opened two centres in Gozo. Offering vocational courses from Foundation level to Degree level, it prepares its 5,500 full-time and 4,000 part-time students for careers in industry or for higher education. MCAST also supplies many businesses with well-trained and highly-motivated human resources. The College works closely with industry in order to ensure that the knowledge, skills and competencies within the curriculum are appropriate and relevant to a dynamic and forward-looking economy.

The Open Weekend aims to provide prospective students and their parents with a useful picture of the various learning opportunities and resources available in each of the different MCAST Institutes. The College will also provide those interested with a unique opportunity to visit and tour a number of industrial establishments with which MCAST works in close collaboration. This is intended to give prospective students an idea of the true meaning of vocational education and will also help them catch a glimpse of career opportunities they may wish to consider. The industrial establishments participating are: Actavis, Dedicated Micros Ltd, Golden Harvest Co Ltd, Maypole Ltd, Playmobil Ltd, Rayair Automation Ltd, Solea Pharma Ltd, ST Microelectronis, TEK-Moulds Precision Engineering Ltd, Toly Products Ltd and Trelleborg.
