Global Finance names HSBC Malta Best Trade Finance Bank in Malta for 2010 PDF Print E-mail
Written by Gerald Fenech on Friday, 26 February 2010 12:03

Global Finance magazine has named HSBC Bank Malta as Best Trade Finance Bank in Malta for 2010.  HSBC has also been voted World’s Best Trade Financial Provider 2010 for its UK and Hong Kong operations.

Global Finance magazine has named the Best Trade Finance Providers by category in an exclusive survey which will be published in the February 2010 issue.  Global Finance editors – with input from industry analysts, corporate executives and technology experts – selected the best trade finance providers in 71 countries.  Criteria for choosing the winners included transaction volume, scope of global coverage, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative technologies.

Each year Global Finance selects the best financial institutions around the world.  These awards have become a recognised and trusted standard of excellence.

“Global trade finance volume contracted sharply in 2009, to the extent that lack of financing was part of the reason for a decline in world trade,” said Joseph D. Giarraputo, publisher and president of Global Finance.  “We have selected the banks that stood by their customers during the credit crunch and found innovative ways to lower risk and speed cash flow from international transactions.”

HSBC Bank Malta CEO Alan Richards said: “We have worked hard to support our customers and the local economy during the challenging economic crises of the last 18 months, and we are delighted to see this publicly recognised through the award of Best Trade Finance Bank in Malta.”
